NYSW is a 7000 sq. ft.  MMA, Submission Wrestling, No Gi BJJ, Wrestling and sports conditioning school located in Colonie NY run Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Black Belt Nick Sanzo.  Nick has 15 years of coaching experience receiving his training under Renzo Gracie as well as Fabio Clemente who was originally under the Machado BJJ and later under Marcello Garcia's teacher, Fabio Gurgel of Alliance BJJ. Nick received his Black Belt from Jay Russell, a first degree Black Belt under Jordan Damon.  Nick has an extensive Submission Wrestling, MMA and BJJ competition background.  Our wrestling program is coached by National Freestyle and Greco champion Mike Paqute who consistently sends wrestlers to the NY State championships as well as to D-1 colleges.  Many of our students have gone on to fight professionally, compete in the biggest submission grappling tournaments in the world (i.e ADCC) and coach at pro camps.  Former student Jay White is now a top Pro MMA competitor and coaches at Couture Extreme LV. We developed  upstate New York’s only continuous submission tournament, The New York Submission Series (NYSS) to help promote competition for students in a central location in NY. We afford submission wrestlers the opportunity to compete on a regular basis, for trophies and custom belts, at a reasonable price and without excessive travel.  We offer classes for all ages and skill levels and are open to students from all disciplines as well as other schools.  We have 3 full Wrestling mats down full time, Thai bags and a full weight area with a strength coach. Our future plans include having  full pro style cage in place by 2009.
